Skin Texture and Scarring

Smooth, healthy skin is about much more than the absence of wrinkles.

Enlarged pores, rough texture, acne scars and uneven skin surface can all affect the way your skin reflects light, often making it appear older, duller or less healthy.

At Nurose Aesthetics, we understand that texture concerns have many different causes. During your consultation, we assess your skin quality, scar type, pore size and overall skin health before recommending a personalised treatment plan designed to improve both the appearance and function of your skin.

Understanding Skin Texture

Changes in skin texture may develop as a result of:

  • Previous acne
  • Collagen loss with ageing
  • Enlarged pores
  • Sun damage
  • Reduced skin turnover
  • Injury or trauma
  • Genetics

Not all texture concerns respond to the same treatment, which is why choosing the right approach is essential for achieving the best possible outcome.

Microneedling with Growth Factors

Microneedling stimulates the skin’s natural repair process by creating thousands of controlled micro-channels within the skin. As the skin heals, new collagen and elastin are produced, helping to improve texture, fine lines and superficial scarring.

At Nurose Aesthetics, we combine microneedling with concentrated growth factors to further support the skin’s natural healing response and collagen production.

In our clinical experience, this combination often allows patients to achieve excellent improvements in skin quality with approximately three treatments, whereas microneedling performed without regenerative support may require four to six treatments to achieve comparable improvements.

Microneedling with growth factors may be recommended for:

  • Acne scarring
  • Enlarged pores
  • Uneven skin texture
  • Fine lines
  • Overall skin rejuvenation

Deep Acne Scarring

More significant acne scarring often requires a combination approach.

For deeper tethered scars, subcision may be recommended to gently release the fibrous bands beneath the skin that contribute to depressed scars. This is commonly combined with microneedling and regenerative treatments to encourage collagen remodelling and improve skin texture over time.

Every scar is unique, and treatment recommendations are based on the type, depth and severity of the scarring identified during your consultation.

Venus Viva™ Skin Resurfacing

For patients concerned with rough skin texture, enlarged pores and superficial acne scarring, Venus Viva™ NanoFractional Radiofrequency is one of our preferred treatment options.

Unlike traditional resurfacing treatments, Venus Viva creates tiny controlled zones within the skin while leaving the surrounding tissue intact. This stimulates collagen remodelling, improves skin texture and promotes smoother, firmer skin with minimal downtime.

Venus Viva may be recommended for:

  • Dull skin
  • Enlarged pores
  • Rough or uneven skin texture
  • Mild to moderate acne scarring
  • Fine lines
  • Overall skin rejuvenation

It is also a suitable resurfacing option for many patients with darker skin types, where some laser or light-based treatments may not be appropriate.

REJURAN - Supporting Scar Healing

Improving scars is not only about resurfacing the skinit is also about encouraging healthy tissue repair.

Depending on your skin assessment, regenerative treatments such as Rejuran® may be recommended alongside other procedures to support collagen production, improve skin quality and optimise the healing response.

These treatments are often incorporated into a personalised treatment plan where appropriate and may be particularly beneficial for patients wishing to improve overall skin quality while treating scarring.
